Governor Paterson Picks Kirsten Gillibrand to Fill Clinton’s Senate Seat
New York Governor David Paterson has just announced today at 12:20 pm in Albany that US Representative Kirsten Gillibrand will be the next Senator from New York, filling the seat once held by Hillary Clinton and Robert Kennedy.
I have been waiting for a good example of someone born with Saturn in Pisces opposing Uranus in Virgo to come to the fore during the ongoing Saturn in Virgo opposing Uranus in Pisces period, and it has finally come.
Kirsten Gillibrand was born on December 9th, 1966. She unexpectedly beat out the popular Andrew Cuomo, and interestingly enough, Cuomo was born only 9 days after Caroline Kennedy, another talked about contender whose bid for the Senate seat was passed over by Paterson.

Gillibrand is current at several half-returns or opposition phases of various planets in her natal chart. She is simultaneously at her seventh Jupiter opposition, highlighted above in blue, her second Saturn opposition, and her Uranus opposition, highlighted above in red.
It is also worth noting that the transiting Sun is conjunct transiting Jupiter while Jupiter is opposed to her own natal Jupiter. This seems to make sense as far as Jupiter is concerned, since she is essentially being awarded the Senate seat, in order to finish off Clinton’s term, and Jupiter is the planet that confirms things.
Sometimes when a person has a slower moving planet making an aspect to one of their natal planets, this outer planet transit can be activated in a specific way when the transiting Sun makes a hard aspect. Interestingly, during the news conference today Paterson mentioned that they first met on August 14th, 2003, which was rather close to another Sun-Jupiter conjunction in Leo, and he chose her for the Senate today at a Sun-Jupiter conjunction in the opposite sign, Aquarius.
The Senate situations are slowly but surely being taken care of. Obama’s replacement, Clinton’s replacement, Salazar’s replacement, and then there’s still that sticky situation of the Minnesota Senate race…more on that soon.
