Mitt Romney Announces Run for President

Posted by on Thursday, June 2 20114 Comments

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney announced his run for President today on June 2nd 2011, at 1:16 pm in Stratham, New Hampshire. Luckily for astrologers, it was a fairly straightforward announcement. Like many other Republican candidates so far, Romney announced while the lunar Nodes were angular, further highlighting the importance of the upcoming lunar eclipse on June 15th 2011 for the Republican presidential nomination race. Let’s take a look at the charts.

I still think it is remarkable that he announced while the Nodes were angular, just like announcement times of other Republican candidates Tim Pawlenty, Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich and Gary Johnson. What I think this is about is that all these different announcements are linked towards the same purpose, of winning the Republican nomination, and I guess that is tied with the eclipses, anciently associated with the fate of leaders and the acquisition and loss of power. They were extremely relevant for Obama in his rise to power. Interestingly, the Republican National Convention will be where they formally nominate their candidate for president on August 30th, 2012. On that day there is a full Moon, but it’s not just any ordinary full Moon, it’s a full Moon square the Nodes, the lunation midway between eclipses which I’m starting to recognize as an integral part of the eclipse cycle, here‘s a recent example. Obama will be re-nominated at the Democratic National Convention on September 6th 2012. The Nodes will be transiting on his Midheaven, where eclipses will occur shortly after the election.

As for Mitt Romney’s personal transits, we are fortunate enough to actually have a fairly well supported source for his birth time. What strikes me are the number of Sun-Moon-Nodes (eclipse!) connections.

  • Romney’s natal Sun was on the descendant at the time of his announcement.
  • The transiting Moon was conjoining the Nodes, and both were culminating at the time of his announcement.
  • The transiting Moon was exactly square Romney’s natal Sun. The transiting Nodes are also locking into a square with Romney’s Sun, like other presidential candidates
  • Romney announced the day after a solar eclipse in Gemini. Next year, another solar eclipse will be happening at 0 Gemini on May 20th 2012, which will conjoin Romney’s Ascendant at 1 Gemini. Obama had the same transit on Super Tuesday 2008.

This should get pretty interesting come next year.

So what do you think about the fact that the ruler of the announcement chart (Mercury) is in that critical last degree of Taurus… and applying to square a stationary Neptune?

Perhaps he is deluded about the fact that his time has already passed?

‘Good luck’ Jupiter is also in that critical last degree of its sign (Aries) too…

Hey Barry, thanks for reading! Well now that you mention it, Neptune is at the zenith of his chart right now and Mercury is really close to his Ascendant, it could say something about an announcement (Mercury) about his lofty aspirations (Neptune in 10th). I don’t know if I attach a specific interpretation to something being near the end of a sign though, other than that it is close to an ingress. What do you think anaretic/critical degress mean?

I haven’t seen Rossanne Barr’s declaration of Presidency Candiancy on this analysis.

What’s up with Perry,,,so you think?
